A Luxury Review: The Conrad Chicago

The Conrad in Chicago is a fairly new hotel that offers a great location and upscale rooms. I recently stayed there with my girlfriend for her birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In this post, I'll be reviewing the hotel and sharing my impressions.

The Hotel's Location

The Conrad is located in an excellent location right off Michigan Avenue. For those looking to do some shopping or simply be near the Magnificent Mile, you couldn't go wrong here. The Hotel is also a short walk from the Red Line and many famous Chicago landmarks. My girlfriend and I enjoyed nice weather and walked to Navy Pier and Millennium Park from the hotel, all relatively close.

The Lobby & Check-In

When you walk into the hotel you'll be greeted by staff who gladly open the doors for you and lead you inside. The first floor has a seating area but the lobby is actually on the 20th floor. The hotel staff escorted us to the elevators that very quickly took us up to the lobby.

Once you arrive on the 20th floor, the check-in desk is just a short walk away through the beautiful two-story lobby.

The Hotel Lobby and Restaurant

The Beautifully Appointed Lobby

We arrived earlier in the day and our room wasn't quite ready yet but the reception was very welcoming and offered to hold our bags and send us a text when our room was ready (which was very quickly). When our room was all set to go, we headed to the 14th floor where our bags were waiting for us.

Our Room

We stayed in a Superior King Room that had excellent views of the city. The room itself was very modern and had electric lighting controls, bed-side electric blind and curtain controls along with a very large TV.

The room was gorgeous and the finishes were very nice, (I love the panels to control lighting by the beds and in the bathroom). The bathroom was also very large and spacious, here are a couple of photos:

The Restaurant

We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant on the 20th floor. It had very nice views and the food selection was also very good, overall a nice meal.

My Girlfriend Enjoying the View

The Conrad Chicago was a very nice and enjoyable hotel. The location is fantastic, the service was very friendly and the rooms are nicely appointed. The next time I'm in Chicago I won't hesitate to stay there again. One tip for booking, check TravelZoo, they sometimes have great deals on this hotel!
