Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary Airport, Alberta

I recently started my two month trip around the world in Canada, with an overnight layover in Calgary. While in Canada I had a brief stay at the Holiday Inn and in this post I'll be reviewing the hotel. I'll keep this review short, as my stay was less than 12 hours.

A few of the key features I look for in airport hotels are a free shuttle, good WiFi, complimentary breakfast and usually a pool or something nearby to do. The Holiday Inn was a good airport hotel in virtually all of those aspects. The shuttle was free and personally arranged, (a driver picked you up or dropped you off at an arranged time and free of charge), the breakfast had a good selection and was included, the WiFi was fast and free and there was a pool + restaurants nearby.

The Room

One of the more important things for most people when booking a hotels is what amenities the room has. Of Course, there are some basic key features to look for but having the extras such as a mini fridge, microwave, large TV and other amenities can make a stay much more enjoyable.

This hotel was a perfect example of my go to airport hotel. It's located less than a ten minute drive from the airport, check-in took less than 2 minutes, the room was clean and has some nice amenities, the pool was nice and had a water slide, the hotel was located next to a couple of good restaurants within walking distance, breakfast was good and had a nice selection, etc.

If you're ever staying in Calgary and looking for a nice hotel near the airport, look no further!
