My Favorite Hotel Loyalty Program
Updated: Jan 10, 2019
There are so many hotel loyalty programs out there that it's often hard to know which brand to go with. However, if you're like me, you may not want to join any single loyalty brand. With all the hotel brands out there, ( Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Four Seasons, Double Tree, Hilton, IBIS, Peninsula, etc.), why limit yourself to one chain? Hotels.com is my favorite way to book hotels because I can book virtually any property in the world and get rewarded for it. Hotels.com offers you a free night after 10 stays. That means after you stay 10 nights in hotels, (It can be all 10 nights in one hotel or 10 different hotels), you get one free for any hotel you chose. The way it works is after you stay 1o nights, the average price of all nights combined is given to you as a credit. So if you stay 10 nights in a hotel that is $150 a night, you'll receive a free night worth up to $150 at any hotel you chose.
In addition to getting your 10th night free, members receive secret pricing. It's free to sign up and secret pricing is available in every major city. I did a quick search for hotels in Bali, Indonesia for this summer. Here are a couple of the secret price offers that came up.
As you can see, the discounts can be significant. When you take into account the amount of money you can save by booking secret price deals, and the free night after you stay for 10, it's a hard loyalty program to beat. Even if your property doesn't have any special offer, having the 10th-night loyalty program essentially means you're getting 10% off of every booking.
If you're looking for even more savings. The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card receives 10 times the amount of points per dollar when booking with hotels.com. Each point is worth one cent so this means you're getting an additional 10% simply by booking with that credit card. Combine that with getting 10% off each stay and you're now getting 20% every booking!
For all the reasons listed above, hotels.com is my favorite hotel loyalty program!
